Disable Autoplay for CD's and USB devices

Autoplay can become very frustrating when you put in a CD or plug in a USB device and the autoplay window pops up and asks you what you want to do with the files. This may be fine the first couple of times it happens, but after a year or two it just gets frustrating.

Follow these steps to disable Autoplay:

Click on Start, and click on Run.

Type this in the Run windows: gpedit.msc

You should now see the Group Policy window. Drop down the Administrative Templates and then select the System folder

In the right side pane look for an option called "Turn off Autoplay"

Double click on this option, and set the radio button to Enabled, and then change the "Turn off Autoplay" to All Devices

You will now be safe from the Autoplay curse.
